LAKE OVIACHIC

"Mexico's Most Accessible Bass Fishing Hotspot”

LODGING INFORMATION

The Deluxe Plan includes lodging in a 4-star motel/hotel in the city of Obregon. Most of the time, we will use a very nice Holiday Inn with a fine restaurant, piano bar, satellite TV, swimming pool, room service, and phones in each room.

FLIGHTS TO CD. OBREGON

There are two or three fights daily arriving Obregon Airport from the USA. You may choose to travel to Guaymas Airport and take a cab to Obregon if your schedule is better arriving Guaymas. Your local travel agent will be happy to take care of your air travel or we will be glad to assist you if you desire. Our company agency is very familiar with the best routes and prices from anywhere in the USA to Obregon.

TRANSPORTATION

All groups will be met at the Obregon Airport and transported to their hotel in the city of Obregon at no charge. Each day you will be transported from your hotel to the lake and returned to the hotel each evening.

OBREGON -- ARRIVALS

Bass Adventures has tours arriving Obregon twice each week on Sunday and Thursday. All of our trips are limited to 3 days of fishing per client. The Sunday arrivals leave on Thursday morning and Thursday arrivals depart on Monday. Upon arrival at the Obregon Airport, you will be met by a Bass Adventures representative and transported to your hotel.

SCHEDULE AND TIMETABLE

All fishermen will be picked up early each morning at their hotel. Coffee and rolls will be served on the bus in route to Lake Oviachic. Breakfast will be served lakeside and then you will depart for fishing. A shore lunch will be served at the lake followed by a short siesta before beginning the afternoon session of fishing. All boats will return to the dock area 30 minutes prior to dark to return to Obregon and your hotel. You will be “on your own” and at liberty to eat, drink, etc., at any location you choose in Cd. Obregon.

FISH LIMITS

'The Federal Fishing Department in Obregon strictly regulates the limits of bass taken from Lake Oviachic. You are allowed to legally take 5 fish per day. However, we recommend that you return all fish larger than 3 lbs. to the lake. We would like for you to keep a few bass for lunch each day so the limit of 5 will not allow fish to be taken home.

RESERVATIONS

Bass Adventures will place your reservations on a tentative basis for 5 working days after the receipt of the reservation. Your deposit of $500 must arrive at our office on or before the fifth day or the reservation will be canceled, no exceptions. The balance of your bill must be paid to the Bass Adventures office 30 days prior to your arrival at the camp. All deposits are non-refundable. All moneys paid are forfeited if cancellation occurs within 30 days of arrival at the camp. If you select our company to handle your travel arrangements, then the cost of your airline tickets must be paid with your deposit.

GENERAL INFORMATION

TIPPING -- There is absolutely no firm policy, but tips of $10 per day per person to the guide for the trip would be normal. Tips for other personnel usually are given to tour managers to distribute to cooks, drivers, etc., and usually would run about $8 per day per event, but this of course is left up to each client.

BOATS -- Oviachic boats are very good fiberglass 16 foot bass boats. They are equipped with primarily 40 horsepower engines in excellent condition and trolling motors.

GUIDES -- Most of the guides are local commercial fishermen, and are very inexperienced in guiding American tourists. They are very eager to please and will be excellent with experience. They do not speak English, but communication is not a big problem. If you make the effort, they will understand.

WEATHER -- Oviachic Lake is located approximately 500 miles south of Nogales, Arizona. Since it is a mountain lake, the morning and evening will be cool to cold and require a warm jacket. Mid day temperatures in winter will be quite warm; summertime and early fall temperatures will be rather hot. Be sure to bring sun lotion, sunglasses, and always everywhere a rainsuit.

HANDY CHECK LIST

Rainsuit, sunglasses, sun lotion, flashlight, rod case. ice chest, tackle box, rods and reels, insect repellent, passport or birth certificate, airline ticket, fishing cap, diarrhea medicine, Pepto-Bismol, camera and film, pliers, fishing knife, and favorite snacks. If you choose to wear short sleeve shirts and shorts, then please cover exposed akin with insect repellent as small biting gnats are present early morning and late afternoon.

BEST LURES

Almost any type of lure will catch fish at this lake. You should be able to use your favorite lure most of your trip and do great. However, a reasonable supply of crankbaits, spinners, and topwater lures of most any color will be fine. Of course, you can always catch fish on worms, jigs and slabs at Oviachic.
