Fishing Report You guys may not need this report, from the looks of it, all of you were at the lake today. It was the most boats I have seen on the lake in a while. The weather was great. The lake is still around 5 1/2 feet high but it is coming down since they have the gates running 24hrs. The water temps are ranging from the upper 50s to mid 60s right now and the spawn is going on big time. We have been catching a lot of males this week and today I final saw the big move of females. They were not on bed but suspended in the bushes sunning their eggs. They should pull up in the next couple of days. There are a lot of males on beds, and more and more pairs showing up. If your fishing shallow it is very important to have a pair of polarized sun glasses. My clients this week were amazed when I loaned them glasses so they could see the fish I was pointing out to them. Some were on beds and others were suspended or cruising. Senkos (greenpumpkin/watermelon and greenpumpkin candy) were the top producer this week, followed by a wacky worm. Some bedding fish prefered a lizard over the senko or wacky worm, just something to keep in mind. Also, on during the rain on Wed. most all the fish we caught were on a 4" gold bomber long A or gold rogue and a wht/chrt Stanley spinnerbait. Even though we did not do much of this, I honestly think you could catch a big sack of fish in the next couple of days flipping a tube into the flooded bushes in the middle of the back of each pocket. These are the areas the big females are currently suspending in and they are the same condition when Mark Goins won the EverStart 2 yrs ago flipping a black neon tube. There are some people who are catching fish on points carolina rigging and also people catching fish on the inside grass line on rigs and wacky worms. If you don't want to get into the bushes this is a good option. One other thing, I have also been seeing some schooling fish in the pockets and in the trees. Keep your eye open for and easy bite.

One more thing, I wanted to say "Thanks" to all of you who have either emailed me or who I have run into at the lake the past couple of weeks who told me how much they enjoyed the reports. It means a lot to me to know that you not only appreciate them but that they have helped you catch more fish.

I have 7 or 8 days left in April if you would like to book a trip. We will have another big wave of spawning fish pull up in the middle of April. If you missed out this month and would still like to learn how to become a better sight fishermen, email me and we will try to get you booked. Good luck!
