Report
This week on Lake Fork the water is down about a foot and the temp. is 65 in the main lake. The spawn is waning and the fish are on the move. There are still a few beds but the hunt is exhaustive now that the full moon has passed. There are males all over the lake protecting fry which are your best bet if you want to fish shallow. I have focused my effort on fish between 10 and 15 foot deep and will continue to fish deeper as we need to untill the fish settle into their summer pattern at about 25 foot deep. To catch the shallow fish weightless plastics, top water baits, spinnerbaits, small crank baits and the like will work. For the deeper fish we have been throwing deep crank baits, swim baits, Carolina rigs and Texas as well as drop shot rigs. Jigging spoons and tail kickers will surely boat a few. We have been concentrating on points but creek channels and roadbeds are also likely spots. This pattern will hold 'till fall. Up to this point my reports have been weekly but with the same pattern week after week from this point on I won't bother you with saying the same thing week after week so I will check in every other week. Be careful on Lake Fork and we'll see you on the lake. I am fishing 1/2 days only from now untill fall due to the afternoon heat. May is now booked up but I do have a few June 1/2 days left. Now is a great time to book your fall trip as you can still get the days you want.
