Report

This week on Lake Fork the water level is 5 inches above full pool and the water temp. is in the 80's. The shallow grass is emerging with moss starting to cover it. Some fish remain shallow but I am concentrating on the fish in 10 to 25 feet. We have been fishing shallow for the first hour then backing off to the deep fish. Shallow fish can be caught on Yellow Magic poppers in shad color and we have been catching a few on weightless plastics on the outer edge of the grass. The deep fish have been biting Texas rigged worms and the tube jig. Colors for the worms are Junebug and some on blue fleck and the tube is watermelon. Carolina rigs have been catching there share with the shaky head also doing well in watermelon. Spoons are becoming a good option as the fish get set up deep in thier summer homes. Last week I had the pleasure of fishing with Jay Novacek, former tight end for the Dallas Cowboys and the winners from the World Fishing Network contest to fish with Jay. We'll wouldn't you know it was a tough day but we managed to catch a few fish before the half day was up. It was a real pleasure as Jay is one of the nicest guys that I have had the pleasure to fish with. He even picked out a backlash from one of the contest winners. I couldn't believe it. Drink lots of water and wear your sunscreen and we'll se you on Lake Fork! As of June I will be fishing half days only due to the heat. If you book two half days in a row I will charge them as a full day to save you $100. Full day price is $300 and 1/2 days are $200 If you would like to book a trip call me at 903-765-2155 or email me at jeff@gunnsguideservice.com Please purchase our sponsors and associates fine products and services: Ranger Boats, Mercury Outboards, Castaway Rods, Shimano Reels, Triple-Fish Line, Precision Marine, Costa Del Mar Polarized Sunglasses, Lake Fork Tackle, Service Marine, Owner Hooks, Bass Assassin, Weedless Lures, Pradco, Tanglefree, Superlube, Ron Kelly’s Taxidermy, Yellow Magic, Bass Pro Shops, Schumacher battery chargers and all the fine LUCAS OIL PRODUCTS including their two cycle boat oil Gunns Guide Service Joanie and Jeff Gunn 903-765-2155 611 Rains County Road 2610 Alba Texas 75410 jeff@gunnsguideservice.com www.gunnsguideservice.com
