Bass Fishing and Fly Fishing Magazine - Yamaha Boats

Bass Fishing and Fly Fishing Magazine - Yamaha Boats From boat shows to magazine reviews, Yamaha’s newest 230-series family runabout boats are already charting a successful course. What sets the new boats apart from the competition is a unique rear “swim patio” that allows friends or family members the ability to relax in a large comfortable area close to the water. More than a just a cool feature, it’s really a new way to enjoy the on-water experience—and it’s receiving rave reviews in the media.

Go Boating Magazine describes it as “the perfect place for a family powwow…and is sure to set tongues wagging.” And Motorboating Magazine noted, “it’s a good place for anyone to chill out, and it’s a great place from which adults can sit and watch the kids swim.” And Boating World says, “This design’s one of a kind- stylish and practical- and will appeal to the watersports enthusiasts out there.”

As impressed as the media is with the 230’s innovative stern design, the editors seem to be just as fascinated with the boat’s industry-leading acceleration and handling.

Packed with 280 horses, one magazine commented on how “the four-cylinder engines give the boat a powerful out-of-the-hole shot that takes you by surprise.” Adding to the fun is the 230’s progressive V-hull design that compliments its powerful twin engines. According to Boating Magazine, “the key reason for buying a jet-powered boat is its quick reflexes, which makes it a blast to drive.”

For 2004, Yamaha built on the success of the award-winning design of last year’s SR230, and introduced two new 23-foot models, including a new wakeboarding boat, the AR230, and a stylish, luxurious version, the SX230 , which features all of the bells and whistles you’d expect from an upscale Yamaha boat.
