
A fertile coastal plain bursting with grain fields and nearby coastal bays provide excellent habitat for Whitewing Dove and waterfowl. El Fuerte lies on the boundary of the western coastal plain and the Sierra Madre Mountains of Sinaloa, Mexico. Well known in tourism circles as the gateway to one of natures great wonders, the Copper Canyons, El Fuerte is not as well known for it outstanding bird hunting.
The local terrain is mountain foothills covered with heavy brush. A short flight from the grain fields, the brush provides perfect cover for roosting birds. With blinds placed near water holes you are directly under the morning and evening flyways.
Villa Del Pescador, a colonial villa with guest accommodations for 12, has a reputation for providing it's bass fishing, bird hunting and Copper Canyon clients, with good food and a quite place to relax while enjoying the many interesting activities the area has to offer. A short walk along the quaint cobblestone streets rewards guests with a number of interesting sites and photo opportunities such as the gardens at the town square, the 100 year old Cathedral and warm smiles from the friendly residents of El Fuerte.
