Fishing Report Not to worry guys, I am still alive. I know I have not reported in about 2 weeks and I am sorry for that. I was in AR for 10 days and was to busy to get a report up before I left. Anyhow, I got on the lake at noon today to scout for my trips for the rest of the week. I started out by trolling through the shallows to see what stage the spawning fish are in. I did see a lot of fish up shallow. Some are on beds, some are guarding fry, and some are just sitting in the shade. The three most important things in that last sentence to key in on are 1) beds 2) fry 3) SHADE. Shade is probably the most consistant pattern of the three and will remain important until the fish leave the bushes. Green willows, green buckbrush, and shade from shadows are all good spots to cast right now. Senkos, wackyworms, superflukes, jerkbaits, and topwaters.

The better pattern that I got on later in the day was throwing spinnerbaits and jerkbaits on windy buckbrush points or on the bushes in the back of the windy coves. The deeper bushes were to key. I was using a 3/8oz Stanley tunable Titanium spinnerbait in Catawba (chart/wht/blk/silver) and I kept it within an inch or two of the surface. I also had one come up and eat a Stanley buzzbait (chrt/wht) in the top of a bush. You can also flip a tube on these same spots and get bit.

With the water falling, look for your windy points to be good producers right now. Both on the bushes as well as the inside grass line.

The crappie are getting good over the grass, cast a small jig or roadrunner and slowly smim it back. This bite should get better throughout the month.

I do have about 5 days availble for this month, 2 Mon., 2 Tues., 1 Wed. if you would like to book a trip. Good luck.

If you would like to book a fishing trip this summer please give me a call or email me.   Enjoy the summer fishing and remember to be safe.  Good Luck!
