SportFishing Mexico

Sportfishing at Puerto Vallarta on Banderas Bay aboard Puerto Vallarta's finest sportfishing fleet.

Puerto Vallarta lies on mainland Mexico's west coast, just about half way between Mazatlan and Acapulco. It lies roughly on the eastern mouth of the Gulf of Calirfornia, widely recognized as excellent sailfish, whaoo, striped marlin and blackfin tuna fishing waters.

A tropical paradise where mountains covered with lush tropical rain forest fall into the deep blue Pacific waters on the west central coast of Mexico, Puerto Vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta is not the best known or the most prolific sportfishing destination in Mexico. But this town is full of pleasant surprises. And one of those surprises is the quality of sport fishing that is available here. There are many options available to a fisherman in Puerto Vallarta.

You can fish from pangas, luxury yachts or from the 26 to 38 foot boats of the charter fleet. Fish for billfish and many other species, almost everyone who fishes out of Puerto Vallarta will catch something. The waters are abundant with sailfish all year. Other species are more seasonal. Check with one of the sport fishing companies or walk the marina in the afternoon to find out who caught what and to arrange a charter for later. Pangas can be hired from almost any beach. You should be able to arrange a custom fishing charter that will suit your individual fishing preferences, as well as your budget.

The biggest fishing event, the Puerto Vallarta Sailfish Tournament is held each year in November.

Puerto Vallarta is ideally situated on Banderas Bay, which offers some of the best sportsfishing in the world. The 40-mile-wide bay has depths of up to two miles, and you can choose from a variety of fishing charters within the bay. If you prefer to explore the rich fishing grounds of the Mexican Pacific, offshore angling action includes Pacific sailfish, blue and black marlin, dorado and giant yellowfin tuna.

Sport fishing is big in Puerto Vallarta and you can easily arrange to spend some time deep sea or sport fishing. Bring in that big one - Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Roosterfish and Sierras roam the waters of the Bay. Dorado, huachinango (red snapper) and three different kinds of tuna are there for the catching as well.

Saltwater fishing in Puerto Vallarta Mexico is an exciting experience you don't want to miss! Banderas Bay and the Mexican Pacific offer some of the best big-game fishing that you can imagine.

If you prefer to explore the rich fishing grounds of the Mexican Pacific, offshore angling action includes Pacific sailfish, blue and black marlin, dorado and giant yellowfin tuna.

Enjoy snorkeling at Los Arcos National Sub-Acuatic Park, take a horseback ride to a beauitful waterfall or just sit back and savor the fresh seafood and exotic cocktails served to you on the beach. Whatever your need, I can do it or find someone who can!!
